We have units of study of relevance to the peer worker cohort across the state at professional development and stackable credit levels. These support professional development without assessment for those people interested in informing and upskilling their practice.
For those who would like to complete an assessment to provide a stackable microcredential, these completions can be used in the Applied Mental Health Studies course. Successful completion of one knowledge unit - 8ALK001 Mental Health, Mental Ill Health and Suicide - and one Foundation unit of the program (see core units listed here) provides admission to the award course if required.
Completion of any of the microcredentials available in the Applied Mental Health Studies course can be used in the new course for the Peer Workforce (when available) through Recognition of Prior Learning. HETI Higher Education will work with the expertise of the Peer Workforce for a planned future Peer Workforce specialisation, which has already been approved in concept by the Governing Council. If you are interested in this, contact us.
This unit introduces the learner to basic mental health concepts, wellbeing, mental ill health and suicide.
