Collaboration and partnership enable effective working relationships and enhance mental health outcomes. Within mental healthcare settings, boundaries and differences between organisations, professions, and roles can contribute to misunderstandings and suboptimal relationships. In this unit, students explore core concepts of interprofessional practice that support collaborative ways of working (including partnership with peer workers). The unit provides opportunities to evaluate and apply principles and aspects of interprofessional practice relevant for working in contemporary mental healthcare settings.
For Term dates, see the Academic Calendar.
Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:
1.Examine interprofessional practice in the context of mental healthcare delivery and improving mental health outcomes.;
2.Evaluate opportunities and challenges for collaboration in contemporary mental healthcare, including working with peer workers and interagency partnerships.
