Pre-Requisite: Structured Therapies 1 (8ALF016)

In this unit clinicians have the opportunity to apply core principles of structured therapy to understanding a chosen therapy [eg. Therapy, IPT, ACT, PST or other] and developing a set of tools to use in their own practice.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate application of the core principles of individual psychotherapy focused interventions as applied within a chosen therapy;
  2. Demonstrate application of selected therapy tools; and
  3. Critically review the ability to deliver the chosen tools within a workplace.

Weekly Schedule
Week 1 Knowledge of core elements of the chosen structured therapy (using case study)
Week 2 Engage: including indications/ contra-indications
Week 3 Provision: Developing a tool kit
Week 4 Tool kit (cont’d)
Week 5 Closure within the therapy framework
