In this unit you will explore what is meant by the term biological therapies which includes medications as well as other old and emerging therapies. You will then develop your role in supporting individuals considering, or engaging with, biological therapies. it is recommended students first undertake 8ALF006 Core therapeutic skills.

Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the role of biological therapies in contemporary mental health practice; and
  2. Critically review and apply appropriate support of an individual who may use biological therapies within your role.
