Mental Health Course Student Applications

Applications for professional development and formal courses all require you to apply for the course by providing basic details. For formal course applications there are a range of evidence requirements before students are accepted. For professional development the provision of basic details will allow you to enroll immediately.

1. Professional Development

Students wishing to complete professional development units need to apply for the course through MyHETIconnect. This process collects your basic details with which we track your unit completions and results. You can then enroll in the chosen units. When you return, logging in will allow you to view your past completions and produce evidence of these if needed, as well as enroll in other units. Course and unit enrolment application link.

2. Formal Course Entry Requirements

There are basic entry requirements descriptions available for Postgraduate Course in Psychiatry and Applied Mental Health Studies.  Note that the type of documentation to establish you meet entry requirements varies depending on your chosen course and type of study. These are detailed in the process description for online admission.

Applicants need to provide Proof of Identity which included a copy as a Photo ID (Drivers Licence or Passport). If applying based on academic qualifications, you will need to supply certified academic transcripts. If you are applying based on your extensive work experience (and you don't have an academic qualification) you will need to submit a recent CV detailing this experience.

3. Recognition of Prior Learning

Applicants may request that their previous learning and experience be assessed for advanced standing towards a postgraduate award. If you wish to apply, please complete the Advanced Standing Application Form as you will need to upload it. Note that students who have completed NSW Institute of Psychiatry (NSWIOP) do not need to apply for Advanced Standing but should supply your academic transcript or details at the Qualifications section of the admission application.
