This unit will introduce the participant to the core elements of family therapy, including assessment of families and collaborative provision of selected approaches.


Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate application of the core principles of working with families in therapy;
  2. Demonstrate application of selected family therapy and approaches tools; and
  3. Critically review the ability to deliver the chosen tools within a workplace.

Weekly Schedule
Week 1 Knowledge of core elements of family therapies (using case study)
Week 2 Assessment of family (including indications/contra-indications to therapy)
Week 3 Provision 1
Week 4 Provision 2
Week 5 Closure within the therapy framework
