Infants and young children develop in an environment of relationships. This unit introduces students to this critical early frame and the key concepts of relationship-based intervention in perinatal and infant mental health.


Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the aims and approaches to intervention in perinatal and infant mental health;
  2. Identify appropriate opportunities for working collaboratively with individuals, families and carers;
  3. Understand the concept of 'peer worker' and the principles of peer led interventions; and
  4. Recognise potential effect of stressors on work performance and relationships.
