KEY DATES

As stated, students need to be admitted into a degree before applying for a scholarship. The courses are designed flexibly so students can apply for admission to a degree at any time during the academic year.

  • Scholarship applications for study starting in 2023 or 2024 are open. Students can apply for the scholarship at any time until the funds are exhausted.
  • Scholarship notifications will be made once eligibility is determined, usually within two weeks.
  • Study can begin at a date to suit the student, noting completion of the degree is required within three years from admission date. Teaching Period dates are shown in the Academic Calendar.
  • Students can enrol in units for their degree across a full calendar year. Scholarship funds must be allocated to units by the unit census date of each teaching period. See the Academic Calendar for census dates.

HOW DO APPLICANTS KNOW IF THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL?
All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application via email, usually within two weeks of application submission.

WHAT IS REQUIRED OF A SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT?
Scholarship recipients are required to:

  1. Complete unit enrolments via myHETIconnect Courses and Units Tab. Scholarship funds will be available for you to allocate to your selected units via the myHETIconnect, Scholarship tab

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY SCHOLARSHIP IF I LEAVE NSW HEALTH?
If you fail to undertake studies, cease study without completing the course, or cease employment with NSW Health during study, then awarded scholarships monies will be forfeited. If you move from one Local Health District/Specialty Health Network to another, this does not constitute leaving the NSW Health System, and therefore scholarship monies remain with you.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

  1. Students are expected to fully apply themselves to their study, otherwise the scholarship will be forfeited.
  2. Whilst a student may withdraw from a unit myHETIconnect on or before the Teaching Period census date (academic calendar) without penalty, withdrawing after census date (unless there are significant special circumstances) also forfeits the scholarship funds for that enrolment.
  3. If a student who failed or withdrew from a unit post-census wishes to repeat the unit/course again, it will be at the expense of the student, unless there are extenuating circumstances which are outlined in the HETI Higher Education Special Consideration Policy, that are agreed to by the ADET.
